Enterprise analyst John Donegan speaks with IT expert and Blockbuster Video legend Dave Carrera, who has worked with Blockbuster longer than anyone else on the planet.

Today, Carrera single-handedly provides 24/7 tech support for all of the hardware and software that runs the last Blockbuster store in Bend, Oregon. Through his Careera Company, he runs the servers out of his home office in Plano, Texas.

In a very eventful call, Carrera discusses his day-to-day work, the myriad challenges of maintaining the old software and hardware needed to run the Bend store, and the managerial decisions that led to Blockbuster’s 2010 bankruptcy.
